The HP Tuners Credit System — Plain Language
What are credits?
Credits are HP Tuners’ licensing currency. Each module you want to tune — ECM, TCM, etc. — costs a certain number of credits to unlock. Think of it as a one-time key for that controller.
When are they used?
Credits are consumed when you license a controller, not when you flash a tune. Once licensed, you can flash and re-flash that controller as many times as you want — no additional credits needed.
Are they tied to the vehicle?
Yes. Credits are tied to the VIN and the PCM’s serial number. Once a controller is licensed, it stays licensed to that vehicle permanently — even if you change devices.
What does this mean for you?
You pay once to license your ECM (and TCM if you’re doing transmission tuning). After that, revision tunes we build for that controller can be flashed without buying a new license. Credit sales here start after authorization — no prices listed until then.
